A Contemporary Condominium Design

Paul and Darcy are repeat clients who decided to sell their single-family home because the opportunity arose to buy the condominium next door to Darcy's mother. They had concerns about leaving the single-family home where they had raised their family. Over the years, they had undertaken various home improvement projects which customized their home to meet their needs. They were concerned that the new condo would have them feeling like they had settled for something less than they used to have. Upon consideration, they decided that they were willing to move but only if the condominium's interior was stunning. Because of our prior working relationship, trust, and design expertise, they knew that we were the right interior design and remodeling company for the job.

Overcoming Coronavirus To Design A Condominium

The decision making was happening during the beginning of the Coronavirus shut down. The seller of the condominium was unwilling to let us visit before closing to take measurements. Therefore, our experienced design and construction team speculated and estimated the stairway area measurements. We use photos to come up with design concepts to determine what type of off-the-shelf IKEA products could be used to build the bookshelf system. It turns out we did a really good job, and we were accurate enough that the design we came up with was produced as intended. We did not need any modifications or product changes from the preliminary design! We also used the photographs to count the exact number of balusters needed, develop an appropriate design, and get replacements ordered ahead of time. Measuring and ordering the den doors was a detail that had to wait until the very end.

Light Fixtures Complete The Interior Design

New light fixtures and lighting design were another big part of the project. The client found a contemporary sputnik style light fixture that ties together with the library design and brings a splash of copper color. In the kitchen, a copper drum light brings a sense of cohesiveness to the design. The copper-colored stairway wall is a key accent feature for the entire main level of the condo. The matte black book shelving and stairway parts, and door to the den complement the copper-colored wall perfectly.

The end result is a condo, which for less than $10,000 in upgrades, became a stunning home for our clients. They can live here with peace of mind, enjoying their home, enjoying their interior, and knowing that moving to a condo was not settling for anything less than what they love.
