Recognized as a National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), Contractor of the Year (CotY) award-winner.

Our clients Ann and Jerry recently moved back to the Madison area to be closer to their grandchildren. They were looking for a specific home style at a higher price point, recognizing that even with their generous budget, any home they chose would require at least some remodeling. They decided to find a home that was 10 to 20 years old, in a beautiful neighborhood, well below their maximum budget. This allowed them to do extensive remodeling to create their perfect dream home. They engaged one of our partners, Dondi, at Bella Domicile for the kitchen and bathroom design. Dondi brought us into the project to move it forward and integrate all the other remodeling work throughout the home.

Transforming a 2003 Ranch Into A Renovated Home Designed for Modern Living

The original home, built in 2003, was a luxury ranch with over 2500 square feet on the main level. Typical for the era, it had columns in the dining room, the kitchen was separated from the great room, and a dinette with windows looking into the backyard, three bedrooms, and an office. The existing great room had a fireplace in the middle of the back of the home with a pair of windows flanking it. While there should have been plenty of light, the house felt a little bland and needed updating to live up to today's living standards.

A New Deck Constructed Off The Kitchen

Opening Up The Space and Creating a True Chef's Kitchen

The main focus was first to refocus the kitchen design. We removed the wall between the kitchen, breakfast nook, and great room to create a beautiful, large open floor plan. To add to the flow, we placed a 4-panel, 10-foot panel patio door at the back of the house leading out to a brand new deck. New windows and the 10-foot wide patio door make the space feel bright, open, and airy.

The kitchen is designed to have the best of the best! The Thermidor appliance package includes double wall ovens, a French door refrigerator, six burner cooktop, a dishwasher, and a microwave drawer. The centerpiece of the island is the high-end 4-foot wide galley sink.

A Completely Renovated Home Perfect for Modern Living

Along with completely remodeling the kitchen and opening up the main living space, we touched almost every other space throughout the home. The fireplace and dining room were redesigned. We gave the fireplace an updated look with floor-to-ceiling masonry, a mantle, a new heating glow fireplace, and the perfect spot for featuring artwork. We removed the large jetted tub in the master bathroom and created a grand shower incorporating the space where the tub used to be. The shower is ready for aging in place. It includes a track bench, an adjustable hand shower, exquisite tile work, and a transom window looking out into the private backyard. The main bathroom and downstairs bathroom also received updates and upgrades.

The Result Of This Home Renovation

Our clients love their newly renovated home! It now has all the amenities of a brand-new Prairie Home Estates house. They can enjoy all the benefits of an established neighborhood, lawn, and mature trees. And we did it all at a budget that, while large, was commensurate and affordable to meet their personal goals. Now Ann and Jerry can enjoy their retirement with the grandchildren nearby!

Everyone was fantastic, helpful and accommodating to us. As we look back we are confident we made the right decision to go with your company. Everything looks wonderful and they all had a hand in making this house feel like OUR home.
