Kitchen Renovation for a Ranch Style Home

Our clients Ann and Jerry recently moved to Prairie Home Estates in Middleton, WI, to be closer to their grandchildren. They found a wonderful transitional ranch home in a lovely neighborhood. It was well under their maximum budget, leaving them plenty of financial ability to remodel it into their dream home. They wanted a complete remodel that included an extensive kitchen renovation. They chose to work with one of our partners, Dondi at Belle Domicile, who created the kitchen design. We were picked to update the house from its 1990/2000s design into the 2020s and create a comfortable, functional home that included giving them their dream kitchen.

Opening the Space to Enhance the Flow

The original home was a typical luxury ranch home built in the early 2000s with over 2500 ft on the main level. It had a dining room with columns, a kitchen walled off from the Great room, and a breakfast area looking out to the backyard. We removed the wall between the kitchen, breakfast nook, and Great toom to create a beautiful open concept. A 10-ft four-panel patio door was placed at the back of the house out of the kitchen to a brand new outdoor living space. The kitchen sink was reoriented. It now looks into the great room. After the kitchen renovation, the great room and kitchen feel more open and comfortable, thanks to the natural light and open flow.

The Best of the Best in Kitchen Design

The kitchen was designed to have the best of the best! The Thermidor appliance package includes a double wall oven, French door refrigerator, six burner cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave drawer. The high-end 4-foot sink from The Galley is the focal point of a massive island. The major appliances and work areas are lined up along one wall of the kitchen. The island looks out into the great room. Details like the simple yet beautiful tilework, large dramatic pendant lights, black cabinet pulls, and fixtures add a simple elegance to the highly functional and aesthetically beautiful kitchen space.

The Kitchen Renovation Exceded Expectations

The quartz countertops, Thermador Appliances, and sink by The Galley makes this Prairie Home Estates ranch better than new. Ann and Jerry were over-the-moon with the results and quite happy that we accomplished the goal within their budget. They can now spend time with their grandchildren and live in a home that meets all of their needs.
