Our clients, Ann and Jerry, returned to Middleton, Wis., to be closer to their young grandchildren. They purchased a single-story home for ease of access as they age. They set a generous budget and sought a house with good bones, ideally ten to twenty years old, in a stunning neighborhood. After finding the perfect home in the ideal location, Ann and Jerry partnered with Dondi from Belle Domicile to design a luxurious, spa-like master bathroom tailored for comfort, safety, and accessibility. Dondi enlisted our team to bring this vision to life, focusing on thoughtful updates to ensure the bathroom would meet their current and future needs while maintaining a sense of style and relaxation.

A Spa-Like Aging-in-Place Bathroom

The original master bathroom had a feature commonly found in homes from its era: a large jetted tub that wasn’t getting much use. To enhance the space, we decided to remove the tub, creating a bright and spacious shower that’s perfect for aging in place. Ann and Jerry envisioned a bathroom that combines luxury with practicality as they embrace the next chapter of their lives. The new shower is designed with their comfort and safety in mind, featuring a sturdy teak bench, a Delta H2Okinetic showerhead for a wonderfully soothing flow, and an adjustable hand shower for added flexibility and ease of use. This thoughtful design ensures that their bathroom is not only beautiful but also incredibly functional for years to come.

A Stylish Master Bathroom Renovation for Aging in Place

This master bathroom renovation artfully combines practicality and sophistication, focusing on both accessibility and visual appeal. Alongside functional aging-in-place elements, we introduced luxurious features such as exquisite tile work and a transom window that floods the space with natural light while framing a peaceful view of the secluded backyard. The glass shower enclosure contributes to an open, airy atmosphere, allowing light to permeate the area. A custom makeup station was designed for comfort and ease of use, becoming the bathroom's focal point. Enhanced by tasteful wallpaper and an elegant sconce, this thoughtfully designed station balances functionality and beauty as you move from the bedroom into the bathroom.
