Recognized as a National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), Contractor of the Year (CotY) award-winner.
Our clients Adam and Britney are doctors returning to their hometown of Madison to plant roots and begin their careers. We recently completed a major remodeling of their 1980s contemporary house located in Madison's desirable and private Arboretum neighborhood. They desired to create the feeling of a modern mountain industrial home, something along the lines of a Utah mountain home, but not a cabin.

The project included a complete bathroom remodeling of the powder room, guest bathroom, and en suite master bath. Each of the bathrooms was designed to complement the overall interior design style, including colors, materials, textures, and functionality.

A Redesigned En Suite Master Bathroom

The master bedroom suite was completely reimagined and updated to reflect the taste and style of the new owners. To create a private sanctuary, we incorporated the seldom-used solarium into the master space. It became a direct extension of the master suite bringing in much-needed light, calming views, and comfort that were not previously present.

The master suite was remodeled to provide better closet space and straighter walls for furniture placement. In addition, the bathroom was redesigned and received a new floor plan to accommodate a luxurious Schluter Kerdi Shower system with 12x24 inch Imagica Haze tile surround and a custom frameless glass shower door. The gold-colored handle and fixtures added an elegant look to the space. His and her floating vanities from Northern Classics in natural Cherry and bathroom drawer bank and medicine cabinet provide plenty of storage space. The color contrast matches the variety of natural materials found throughout the home. The Silestone Calacatta Gold countertop completes the vibe!

A Much Needed Guest Bathroom Remodeling Project

Like the rest of the home's interior, the guest bathroom was functional but seriously dated by today's standards. When conceptualizing the design for this bathroom remodeling project, we chose to keep the design clean and minimalist to meet the goals of our clients. For the master bathroom, we replaced the tub surround with 3X6 inch glazed ceramic tile by Color Wheel Classic in a matte Suade Grey. The tub surround complimented the 12x24, ½ offset patterned Porcelain Tile flooring by Elemental Canvas in Dark Gray. To further incorporate rich dark tones in the space, we chose a soapstone countertop for the Nautical stained Northern Classics vanity and Kohler under-mount sink. The Brizo sink and tub fixtures added a subtle elegance to the overall design.

Remaking the Powder Room

Our goal for the powder room was to tie the look and feel into the interior design of the main living space. We kept the design simple choosing a floating vanity from Northern Classics with modern slab doors, stained the Driftwood color to match the kitchen uppers. To further tie the powder room design into the main living space, the countertop on the floating vanity is the same Walnut Butcher Block with Edge grain in a natural finish that was used in the kitchen. The sink is a simple vessel sink the homeowners provided. The powder room design is completed by a Mitzi pendant light fixture.
