Degnan Builder of the Year Award Featured In DeForest Times-Tribune

Degnan Design-Build-Remodel is a second-generation family-owned business based in DeForest, Wisconsin. The firm received the coveted 2023 Wisconsin Builders Association Builder of the Year award.

The Degnan Building and Remodeling Company was founded in DeForest, Wisconsin, in 1981 by Bob Degnan. Known for additions and remodeling, the company gained success, a reputation for quality work, and building customer relationships. Bob's son Abe grew up learning the business firsthand. Abe's first job was as a helper. As he gained experience, he worked as a carpenter on projects.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a degree in architecture, Abe returned to join the family business, bringing a design-oriented philosophy to the firm. The company's name was changed in the early 2000s to reflect the new philosophy. As Degnan Design Builders, Inc., the company shifted to more of a focus on design-build.

Moving Forward

Today, as the third generation of the Degnan family joins the team, Degnan Design-Build-Remodel carries on Bob Degnan's legacy through a family-oriented work environment featuring creative designs, professional-level communications, expert problem-solving, and true craftsmanship.

About the Wisconsin Builders Association Builder of the Year Award

The Wisconsin Builders Association was founded in 1947 as a professional trade organization for the building industry in the state. Its mission is to advance the housing industry through government involvement, education, and promotion of the building industry. People who join the Wisconsin Builders Association strive to be the best in the industry at what they do.

Each year, the Association awards its Builder of the Year Award to one outstanding member based on their service to the association, the industry, and the greater community. Abe Degnan and Degnan Design-Build-Remodel have been active members of the Wisconsin Builders Association for more than 20 years. Abe served as President of the Madison area chapter of the Association in 2010 and 2013. In 2021, Abe was honored to serve as President of the statewide association.
