A Home Addition in Westwynde Neighborhood in Sun Prairie, Wis.

We recently completed a transformational project for our clients Charles and Kayla and their young family. They own a beautiful home in the Westwynde neighborhood of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. They dreamed of expanding their living space by adding a four-season room the family could enjoy. They also wanted it to connect to a large concrete patio to add the element of indoor/outdoor living to their comfortable home. They dreamt of creating an outdoor space that the family could enjoy and a space for their kids to play basketball in the comfort of their own backyard!Click on the images below to view them full screen.

A Vision Of A Family Space

Charles and Kayla had a good idea of their design aesthetic. They wanted a bright, open space with plenty of windows, high ceilings, and abundant natural light. They loved clean, whitewashed elements, but they also wanted a touch of warmth that created an inviting, cozy space the family could enjoy year-round. Their existing space included a large deck off of the family room. It was placed in a sunny spot with no shade during the day. It became an unused, overheated space cluttered with patio furniture and toys that quickly became a burden that required consistent maintenance.

 

Transforming the Deck to a Four-Season Room

We needed to start by removing the deck to build the four-season room. We took advantage of its size and location and used the existing deck as a guide. We shortened the space by about six feet, which gave us the space for the room and still allowed space for a sizable maintenance-free composite deck. The four-season room features high ceilings, and the Alliance Windgate sliding 2-lite patio door and double-hung windows flood the space with natural light. The new composite deck features a pyramid staircase leading to the patio and a 20'X24' basketball court for the kids.

 

A Home Addition The Entire Family Can Enjoy!

The new four-season room is the statement piece of this remodeling project. With a large patio door entrance from the deck to the tall double-hung windows and transom windows, this space is a true testament to indoor/outdoor living! It's the perfect combination of coziness and warmth that blends perfectly into the existing home. This new indoor/outdoor space perfectly suits the family and exceeds all expectations.
