A Windsor, WI Home Receives An Updated Kitchen Design

The Gen-X homeowners of this Windsor, Wisconsin home in Terrace Park, hired Degnan Design-Build-Remodel to update their kitchen as part of a multi-room home renovation. Before the remodel, the kitchen had dark, a heavy feel which made the space look dated and dreary. The builder-grade kitchen cabinetry had partial overlay doors and inferior hardware. Existing outdated finishes were removed and replaced to modernize the kitchen design and brighten the space. Changes made to the kitchen included new Dura Supreme cabinets with modern storage accessories and soft close drawers, the conversion of a desk to a beverage center, and a new kitchen island. Glazed white 3’ X 6” subway tile was used and the backsplash above the range is suede gray in a herringbone pattern. Both are the Rittenhouse style by Daltile.

A Spacious Bright Kitchen Remodel

To give the kitchen a brighter appearance the perimeter cabinet color is linen, and the island cabinets are in zinc. The kitchen beverage center cabinets have Hudson flat panel doors, also painted in zinc. The floating shelves are reclaimed wood and add visual interest against the white subway tile. During the design process, a decision was made to keep the sink, range and the refrigerator in their current locations. The layout and location of these items functioned well and keeping them in place reduced costs.

This updated kitchen was part of a more extensive renovation in which multiple rooms encompassing more than half the home were remodeled.
