Our clients Kirsten and Jason came to us wanting to transform their traditional ranch home into a stylish, remodeled mid-century design. They purchased their home in the Golf Green neighborhood in Madison online, sight unseen. The house was built in the 1960s and remodeled in the 80s, but as it stood, it didn't meet this young family's needs or style. Our design included updating the existing bathrooms, finding a space for a new powder room, and designing a guest bathroom in the finished basement.

The Remodeled Mid-Century Master Bath

First up was a redesign of the master bathroom. The original master bedroom had a detached bathroom outside the entrance to the suite. When we considered our redesign, it was determined that it made the most sense to leave the original bathrooms and bedrooms where they were and to reconfigure the design slightly to give the couple an en suite bathroom. The existing master bedroom closets became the perfect space for two Amish custom cabinet vanities complete with American Reserve Liberty Gold quartz countertops. The vanities were designed to carry the mid-century design elements used throughout the rest of the home into the master bathroom.

A New Powder Room

Kirsten and Jason asked us to add a powder room to our design. A small closet and the hallway in front of the master suite was the perfect location for the couple's new powder room. We repeated the classic mid-century design on the vanity cabinet tying the space into the rest of our design. This detailing combined with the five-panel pocket door and the client's choice of modern wallpaper takes the powder room to a new level! View The Before and After Images of this Project.

A Spa-like Retreat for Guests

The homeowners also wanted a guest bathroom in the newly finished basement. We opened up the closed staircase in the kitchen to create a beautiful visual element leading to the basement. At the base of the stairs, we added the guest bathroom. This large, spacious bathroom offers guests a spa-like retreat with a large Jacuzzi tub and tile shower. It's the perfect space to pamper guests or escape after a long day.

These Four Bathrooms Greatly Improved This Mid-Century Home

This beautiful reimagined and remodeled mid-century home now offers plenty of space to live, work, and relax. With attention to detail, modern fixtures, and luxury finishes, this home has transformed into the forever home our clients wanted and will cherish for years to come!
